Station 1

Hi Tara -

Could use your help with something. I am having a lot of pain under my feet. Like, when I walk, my feet hurt. It started a few weeks ago, and it seem like it’s worse first thing in the morning and it’s worse during the week, better on the weekends.

Any thoughts on what is happening?

Thanks -

Tanya

Station 2

Hey Tara -

Not sure what to do with this one - it seems pretty complex. I am having a lot of hip pain, and it is pretty stabbing. It’s definitely worse as I walk forward, but that might be because whatever muscle runs down my leg is tight. It’s the muscle or tendon or whatever on the inside of my leg.

I ended up having an x-ray and an MRI, and it shows a lot of bone spurs on the hip. Apparently, one of the bone spurs is sort of catching the hip as I move forward, if that makes sense.

Looks like I am probably going to need surgery to clean those off, but I’d like to understand why I have them so I can fix that and not have them come back.

Thanks a ton,

James

Station 3:

Dear Tara -

I keep getting kidney stones. It’s always on the right side. I started having them about 2 years ago, I go through a period of excruciating pain to get them to pass, and then I’m okay for a bit. Then they come back.

This last one, I needed surgery to break it up so it could pass.

How do I get this cycle to stop? What is going on? So frustrated.

Thanks,

Leila

Station 4:

Hi Tara -

My blood pressure is sky high right now. The doctor says I need to get it under control, which I will, but I am trying to figure out what’s going on. It’s been high for a while now, but not this high. I am definitely having stress at work, and I am not dealing with it well.

I know I am lonely; I went through a divorce not to long ago. That probably has an impact, too.

Does that make sense? I guess it’s emotional stuff, then?

Thanks,

Elena

Station 5:

Hey Tara-

I need your help with translating this one.

I have polyps on my vocal cords. I am a singer, and this is affecting my ability to perform. I am not sure what the heck to do about it. I started noticing that my voice felt “full” when I spoke - almost like I had something stuck in there. That’s when I went to check it out.

It’s been about 3 months or so.

I love to sing. I want to sing. This is really concerning, because I have a big audition coming up soon, and I have to do something.

Thanks so much…

Station 6

Dear Tara,

I keep breaking out all over my forehead. I am 40! What in the world is happening?

Thanks -

Julie

Station 7

I have developed this pigment-eating thing all over my body; it’s called vitiligo. Basically, I now have all these patches of white on my skin right now; I am very dark-skinned, so it’s startling to look at. There is also a patch on the roof of my mouth.

It’s been happening for the last year and a half or so.

Thanks for taking a look at this for me.

Isaac

Ask Tara Live: October 30th

In today’s live call, I talk about how to develop resilience during the ongoing pandemic (and why it’s perfectly okay to not be okay right now), as well as what the pandemic says about the state of our collective immune system and sense of group safety.

Then, I answer two student questions and tie together long-standing patterns with bone spurs, pain, and ovarian cysts.

In today’s call, I cover several important topics, and, most especially, one that’s be top of my mind - the pandemic. We are all getting exhausted by this ongoing viral threat, by the precautions we need to take to help curb it, and by the uncertainty and isolation that is often required. In order to (hopefully) help, I break down why it’s okay to not be okay, why that’s part of developing resiliency, and what this pandemic is telling us as humanity at this moment in time.

Then, I answer two student questions that are issues people are dealing with right now, but have roots in childhood.

If you’d like to jump to any of the specific topics, here are the timestamps to do so:

7:05 - Pandemic talk - how to develop resiliency to keep getting through this, why it’s okay to not be okay right now, what it says about our collective sense of safety, and why this might be showing up now, and how to increase your own (and the collective) immune system to align with a better way.

20:03 - Ask Tara - a question about bone spurs in the right foot and right hip as well as right-side knee pain, and what that says about what’s going on in Bonnie’s life.

36:44 - Ask Tara - Ovarian cysts - what could they be telling Kathy about blocked creativity?
